According to sources, Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has filed for parental custody of Spurs and England striker Harry Kane.
In a letter to Stratford Magistrates’ Court and Family Court Sherwood stated that he felt comfortable in the knowledge that Kane would be safest in his custody and that “he belongs to me, he’s my boy”.
A member of Sherwood’s legal team said today. “Tim is well aware that Harry already has two parents but he feels that it’s in his and the boy’s best interests that he take sole custody of the striker. He knows that there’s a bond there between them even if Harry is a little less forthcoming.”
Sherwood has long spoken of his bond with Kane, and he will hope the court’s decision next week is favourable.
