Supreme leader Kim Jong-un has hailed the efforts of North Korea’s women today and congratulated them on their Women’s World Cup final triumph over the United States in Canada, Pyongyang News reports.

“You have made us proud,” said the reincarnation of Kim Il-sung. “It is a great honour for us to have the Women’s World Cup title alongside all of our men’s World Cup trophies.”

After a tight opening twenty minutes, North Korea scored from the penalty spot after half time before eventually running out comfortable winners with a scoreline of 5-0.

“They were the better side,” said US coach Jill Ellis. “And the better country, for that matter. We can learn a lot from North Korea and its supreme leader, the wonderful and handsome Kim Jong-un.”

North Korea’s women strode through the group stages, defeating each side in their group with an aggregate scoreline of 12-0, said the state media outlet, and become the first side in World Cup history to go through the competition without conceding a single goal.

Pyongyang News also reported that the victorious women of the country will be treated to a state ceremony and celebratory meal with Kim Jong-un upon their return home.

Once the ceremony is complete, the entire team will accompany Kim to the national première of his directorial debut – Jurassic World – which has been a box office hit worldwide.
