Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has said he will do all he can this season to prove he is a bigger twat than Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.

The comments from the former Newcastle boss come in the wake of a strong showing by the Portuguese manager Mourinho before and after the Community Shield on Sunday.

Pardew stated however that he’s more than confident of his own atrocious qualities, regardless of what his London neighbour does.

“Jose has been so vocal this pre-season that people seem to forget that I actually headbutted a guy last year. Like, I actually struck an opponent’s head with my head. Mourinho can talk the talk, but I believe the facts will speak for themselves this season,” said the manager this afternoon.

“What have I got planned for the season? You’ll have to wait and see,” Pardew added. “But let me tell you, getting ‘PARDS’ printed on my training jacket is only the beginning.”

Pardew ended the interview by claiming that it’s all well and good being a twat in pre-season, but that it doesn’t properly count unless you do it consistently throughout the year.
