Liverpool fans are said to be distraught tonight after the club’s imaginary title challenge was dealt a cruel blow tonight.
Jurgen Klopp’s side came into the game in good form and in a position to seriously delude their supporters into believing a run at the title may be possible, a run that is even less likely to happen after a poor result.
“It’s a very disappointing result. Recent games had made this imaginary title challenge a real possibility and this loss will be tough to come back from,” said fan Paul Shroot, adding that these sort of results do occasionally happen despite fans believing their club are capable of challenging for the championship.
“This is the sort of game our interpretation of Liverpool should be winning. But all title races – both real and imaginary – have pitfalls.”
At press time, defiant supporters insisted that the club’s imaginary title challenge could still be resurrected if the squad knuckles down and works hard over the next four to five years.
