Andres Iniesta hopes new haircut ends talk of Fred West resemblance

"I just hope this stops," said the midfielder.

“I just hope this stops,” said the midfielder.

Andres Iniesta has spoken for the first time of his hope that his new haircut will end any and all talk of his resemblance to Fred West.

The Barcelona midfielder unveiled his new Mohawk haircut during last night’s FIFA Club World Cup semi-final against Chinese champions Guangzhou Evergrande, leaving social media in a buzz over its peculiarity.

Despite much derision over the new cut, the legendary Spain player has revealed that there were fashionable thoughts behind the cut, and that he merely wanted to further distance himself from the notorious Gloucester serial killer.

“I can’t take it anymore if I’m honest. People assume being a professional footballer is easy, but how would you feel if every time you walked down the street people asked what was under your patio?!” asked the 31 year old, adding that he had also considered cosmetic surgery in a bid to bring an end to comparisons with the man whose infamous Cromwell Street residence has since been demolished.

“I hope this new haircut might finally bring an end to people shouting ‘How’s Rose?’ while I’m walking down the street with my family. Is that much to ask?”
