Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has revealed that the club have recalled striker Will Keane from his loan spell at Preston North End in a bid to bolster his side’s impotency in attack.

The side have scored the fewest home goals in the Premier League this season and the Dutchman feels that Keane, who has scored a total of two goals in 22 appearances for Preston, will fit right in.

“In our last outing against Chelsea we looked a little too threatening at times but with his recent record I feel Will is the perfect player to make this side more blunt and inaccurate up front,” said the former Bayern coach, adding that he sees no reason why Keane can’t score as many as no goals this season.

“With his poor finishing and lack of strength and pace, I knew that he was exactly what this squad needed to give us a real injection of mediocrity.”
