Manchester City handed boost ahead of Spurs game as squad turns up

Manchester City have been handed a timely boost ahead of their top four clash with Tottenham Hotspur today after it emerged that each and every one of the team’s match day squad has turned up for the game.

Fourth-placed City face off against second-placed Spurs after a 3-1 home defeat to league leaders last weekend, though manager Manuel Pellegrini believes the actual presence of his players at today’s game may boost the side’s chances of a return to form.

“This is a real and much-needed boost for us ahead of what is an important game. Actually having the boys here should prove invaluable,” said the Chilean, adding that it had been touch and go whether the players would turn up until this morning.

“You’ve got to hand it to the players for their commitment. They could’ve stayed at home and turned off their phones but they dug deep and will actually be there, you can’t ask for more.”
