Saying that the silent void would be sweet relief, Michael Carrick today admitted that each and every Manchester United squad member prays for death before and after each game.
Addressing the media after a disappointing draw at home to Liverpool, the England international revealed that nothing would bring himself and his teammates more joy than to feel the cold embrace of the afterlife.
“We hope each moment is our last and that we may depart as soon as possible,” said the former Tottenham midfielder, adding that the squad cares little about the nature of their demise.
“It’s been a tough season but it’s solace for us to know that the infinite abyss may soon be near.”
