Insisting that his blushing face was unrelated, Manuel Pellegrini has allegedly decided against dropping Jesus Navas for Manchester City’s upcoming game against West Bromwich Albion after looking into the midfielder’s eyes.
The Chilean was said to be on the verge of informing the 30-year-old that he wouldn’t be involved at the weekend following Manchester City’s game with PSG on Tuesday, before reportedly stopping in his tracks as soon as the Spaniard turned around to speak to him.
“Em, em, never mind,” the former Real Madrid coach was believed to have nervously said. “Er, I just wanted to tell you that you’re a good guy.”
“Stupid, stupid, stupid,” the former Real Madrid coach was reported to murmur to himself. “You always do this around him. Just talk to him like a man.”
At press time, Pellegrini watched on as the assistant he had sent to deliver the news in his stead returned giggling like a schoolgirl.
