Saying that he must decide what is best for him first and foremost, Claudio Ranieri has revealed today that he will weigh up the numerous grandfather adoption offers he has received before making any decision on his future.
With just three games of the season to go, the Italian’s Leicester City side sit top of the Premier League needing just a solitary win to guarantee a shock league win.
While question marks remain over the former Chelsea manager’s future at the club, he has insisted that he will look at all the offers in front of him, including hundreds of recent applications from people around the world to adopt him as their grandfather.
“At this time we must think, yes? I do not know what the future holds for me. Will I be manager here or somewhere else? Will I become the grandfather to someone in America or India? It’s too early to tell,” said the smiling 64-year-old, adding that the prospect of being a grandfather in a new country excites him.
“My wife says, ‘Claudio, you already have grandchildren, why do you need more?’ but she knows I love to be a grandfather, so we will see what happens.”
