Saying that the choice simply made the most sense for the British public, Metro today came out in support of Antoine Griezmann to Arsenal as it publicised its stance on Britain’s upcoming referendum over whether to stay or leave the European Union.

“Our choice – for a better Britain,” read the publication’s headline on its online and print editions, adding that the French forward’s skill, pace and experience mean that he’s a steal at a touted fee of £110m. “Think about your future, make the right decision.”

“This is a choice for opportunities, for achieving goals and for weighing in with a decent number of assists too.”

At press time, Metro offered an opposing view from one of its columnists, in which he argued for choosing Paul Pogba to Chelsea instead.
