Describing the glee which has filled his chest for the majority of the last month, a Manchester City fan today revealed that he has taken more joy from Paul Pogba’s under-performance than anything he has ever done in his life.
Pogba joined Manchester United for a world record fee in August, but has struggled for form in what has been a disappointing start to the season for Jose Mourinho’s side, something which has made rival supporter Trent Boyce happier than he ever thought imaginable.
“I was pretty annoyed when Pogba signed for that lot. It made me think they might actually do something this year. As such, seeing him fail so spectacularly has honestly been the greatest thing to ever happen to me,” said the 29-year-old, adding that he now bases his entire day around logging onto Twitter and posting mocking messages to Manchester United fans.
“I was fairly happy before this, I have a little daughter who I love to bits, but this has been above and beyond and shown me what true joy actually is. Even though we’re playing pretty shit ourselves, it doesn’t seem to matter when he’s playing like crap.”
At press time, Boyce revealed that he wouldn’t actually mind if Pogba rediscovered his form, admitting that he’s not sure if he’s capable of handling such a constant flow of endorphins into his body.
