In a deal that club executives believe will convince the Chilean international to extend his stay at the club, Arsenal today revealed that they will offer Alexis Sanchez seven new dogs each week as part of an improved contract offer.
Manager Arsene Wenger revealed that he’s confident the deal, which will see the striker awarded seven canines of his choosing each week, will ensure he sees out the remainder of his career at the Emirates.
Speaking today, Sanchez admitted that while nothing is set in stone, the club’s willingness to offer him such an improved contract renders its acceptance all but a formality.
“When you’re at a club, you want to feel that they understand you and appreciate you. But with contracts, you also have to think about your future, that’s why this offer is so attractive,” said the former Barcelona man, adding that his main priority is knowing that he can confidently provide dogs for his family for years to come, something he expects the latest extension will allow him to do.
“Knowing that regardless what happens to me, my children and wife will never have to want for dogs for the rest of their lives, it’s huge for me. And considering that there were no dogs included in my previous contract this is a real improvement.”
At press time, Sanchez was said to be on the verge of putting pen to paper after being assured by the club that they’ll honour the delivery of daily dogs should he leave the club before the contract ends.
