Man Utd blogger hoping no one notices his Lindelof profile is just his Wikipedia page

Writing the Victor Lindelof profile, the blogger was hopeful he’d edited enough of the Wikipedia page before publication.

Saying that he feels he’s hidden it well but it’s up to the readers to decide, a Manchester United blogger was hopeful today that no one will notice that his article profiling Victor Lindelof is actually just his Wikipedia page.

Speaking a couple of hours after reading rumours linking Jose Mourinho’s side with the Benfica player, amateur writer Fran Dalmer said that he was quietly confident that no one would pick up on the fact that the piece is essentially a thinly-veiled re-telling of the Swedish centre-back’s profile on the online encyclopedia.

“I read the stories about United putting a bid in for him but then I realised that I have no contacts, I don’t watch Portuguese football and I don’t know anything about the player,” said Dalmer, who runs the website Red United Devils, adding that aside from all the information taken almost entirely verbatim from Wikipedia, the article is very much his own work.

“His name, age, height, previous clubs and supposed attributes are all from Wikipedia, but unless you actually visit his Wikipedia page you’d probably never know.”

At press time, Dalmer had added a sentence describing the centre-back as “something of an unknown entity but a promising prospect nonetheless” in a bid to put his own unique slant on the piece.
