Farren said he was excited for a break from the commercialism of the Premier League while watching the Emirates FA Cup.

Saying that it would be refreshing to see some football that really meant something for once, local man Peter Farren today expressed his excitement at having a break from the Premier League by watching two of its teams compete in the FA Cup

Speaking just hours before the two top flight sides met in the third round of England’s top cup competition, Farren said that he welcomed the brief reprieve from the cynical nature of the Premier League.

“I’m looking forward to it; I must admit. To have a couple of hours away from the glitz and glamour of the Premier League and just watch some honest football between two teams that play in the Premier League twice each season,” said the 31-year-old shop assistant.

“It’s just nice to have a little break from all the commercialism and watch a good old game of the Emirates FA Cup featuring the same players, officials and fans. Special.”

At press time, a bored Farren was already checking his phone to see when the Premier League would be returning.
