Saying that the acquisition could well be the final piece necessary for the club to return to top flight success, football fan Owen Mackay today admitted that Manchester United’s appointment of a scout he’s never heard of was enough to convince him that they’ll win the title next year.
Speaking after the appointment of former Juventus head scout Javier Ribalta, 31-year-old Mackay said that the level of expertise possessed by the man he learned about for the first time today would surely help the Old Trafford club reclaim its rightful place at the top of English football.
“This guy is top quality, simple as. If he doesn’t help us return to title winning than nothing will,” said the financial advisor of the head scout he would have been unable to identify just 12 hours earlier. “His credentials speak for themselves, and he has a track record that simply cannot be disputed. Everyone knows this.”
“Above all else, it shows we’re moving in the right direction. You don’t make an appointment of such high quality and – yes – integrity, without making it abundantly clear that you’re here to compete, and to win.”
Mackay later went on to say that he was confident that Victor Lindelof – a footballer he has never seen play – is the man to shore up Manchester United’s defence for years to come.
